Kellie Covington is the Partnership Consultant for 11th Hour Racing and works closely with teams and events to ensure successful delivery of their sustainability goals.
She grew up sailing on the south coast of the UK and gained a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Southampton University. The combination of these two interests led her to work on Superyachts for five years, mainly as an engineer, and to sail over 40,000nm; visiting some of the most beautiful places on the planet. It was during this time that she was confronted with some glaring environmental issues and started questioning how society deals with waste and consumption. After moving shore side as an electronics engineer, she began studying for an MBA in the Circular Economy and shortly afterward met 11th Hour Racing during the 35th America’s Cup where she was working for the French Team.
Kellie believes that a shift to a circular economy is not only critical for the environment and society but that it opens up exciting innovation opportunities in the marine industry and beyond.
Kellie loves sailing, skiing and being outdoors. She lives in Lorient, France, in the heart of the Bretagne sailing valley.
