Baltimore County Sailing Center (BCSC) has provided water and sailing access to the Baltimore Community for 27 years, with a focus on underserved students and disabled groups. The Youth Launch Program provides 50 children living in homeless shelters with the opportunity to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through hands-on activities throughout a 10-week summer program. This program will help children learn social-emotional skills such as leadership, self-confidence, and resilience, along with essential life skills such as teamwork and communication. This program will teach its students to appreciate their local waterways through experiential learning on the Chesapeake Bay.
The Baltimore County Sailing Center is a nonprofit sailing center located at Rocky Point Park in Eastern Baltimore County. BCSC is a community sailing center that is driven largely by the volunteers and donors that are dedicated to our mission of bringing people of all ages to the water and inspiring a life-long passion for boating. The Center does not only specialize in junior sailing but also in racing, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and even windsurfing! The Center is extremely proud of its LAUNCH mission, where it allows people who may not have the opportunity to get to the water to gain the full Chesapeake Experience! This includes its Special Olympic sailing program, at-risk youth program, and adult recovery program.
