This grant supports student scholarships and helps expand educational opportunities for the Early Childhood and After-School Academy childcare programs. MLK Center has recently added programs focused on movement and mindfulness, outdoor experiential learning, STEAM education, and environmental education in partnership with Audubon Society, Clean Ocean Access, Norman Bird Sanctuary, and other local NGOs.
Students enrolled in the Preschool and After School programs learn about and participate in composting collection through Black Earth Compost and gain educational opportunities to prepare them for lifelong academic success.
