Reversing the Tide: Stopping the Flow of Plastics Into the Ocean
Ocean Conservancy uses best in science-based solutions to tackle the biggest threats to the ocean. One of those threats is plastics pollution. In 10-15 years it is estimated the ocean will contain about one pound of plastics for every three pounds of finfish. Over the next five years, Ocean Conservancy will work to reduce the flow of plastics into the ocean by establishing an industry supported global financing mechanism. This funding mechanism would generate the capital needed to pilot waste management infrastructure solutions in developing countries.
