Emily SkeehanGrant Program Manager

    Biography

    Emily manages the organization’s grant program. Emily spent 15 years working on ecosystem restoration, climate change adaptation, marine education, and policy development at the local, state, federal, and international levels of government, as well as in the private and non-profit sectors. Experiences as a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Knauss Marine Policy Fellow and Virginia Sea Grant Fellow allowed her to focus on protecting and restoring our nation’s diverse coastal communities and resources in the face of climate change.

    She holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Middlebury College and an M.S. in Marine Science from College of William and Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Emily has lived in New York, Virginia, Washington D.C., Spain, Italy, New Zealand, and Japan but now she and her surfer husband have set down roots to raise their two boys and enjoy the beautiful Ocean State.
