Nick Meconiates
MARITIME INDUSTRY RESEARCH FELLOW
Nick Meconiates is a Maritime Industry Research Fellow at 11th Hour Racing, where he helps build and manage research systems for the commercial maritime industry.
Before joining the team, he earned his B.S. in Environmental Science, Studies, and Management & Business from Skidmore College and spent several years working across both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, he served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines, partnering with local governments, fisherfolk associations, and environmental offices to support marine conservation initiatives—including mangrove rehabilitation, Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), carbon sequestration projects, and sustainable fisheries. He also worked alongside people’s organizations and local community groups to develop and deliver education campaigns focused on conservation, marine debris, blue economies, and sustainable livelihoods.
Nick is passionate about intentional travel and enjoys scuba diving, hiking, surfing, and backpacking.
