11th Hour Racing Joins the Green Sports Alliance!

To further its commitment to promote sustainability through sport, 11th Hour Racing recently became a member of the Green Sports Alliance,  joining more than 300 sports teams and venues from 20 different sports leagues and 14 countries.

The Green Sports Alliance leverages the cultural and market influence of sports to promote healthy, sustainable communities where we live and play. It does so by inspiring sports leagues, teams, venues, their partners and millions of fans to embrace renewable energy, healthy food, recycling, water efficiency, species preservation, safer chemicals and other environmentally preferable practices.

As Exclusive Sustainability Partner of Land Rover BAR, 11th Hour Racing will lead a plenary session at the Green Sports Alliance Summit in Houston in June 2016 entitled “Harnessing the Power of Partnerships: Building a Sustainable Sports Team.”

Through partnerships, the Land Rover BAR team has set out to influence not only the America’s Cup and the sport of sailing, but the entire sporting industry. Key to their successful sustainability platform is engaging partners to develop innovative solutions, and to create lasting legacies in communities where America’s Cup events are held. The plenary session at the GSA Summit will describe the team’s sustainability journey thus far, and will focus on the partnerships it has developed and seeks to develop to inspire change – in sailing, in the way we take care of our marine environment, and in our behaviors. #SailingIntoSustainability
