Recap of 11th Hour Racing’s Impact at Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series
At 11th Hour Racing we are in a privileged position to inspire the next generation through sport, and our partnership with Land Rover BAR is instrumental in engaging with wide audiences. At each Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series event, we collaborated with the team to set up youth engagement activities, around the themes of ocean health and sustainability.
In New York City, we partnered with 11th Hour Racing’s grantee Rocking the Boat. Land Rover BAR’s skipper Sir Ben Ainslie and 11th Hour Racing Co-Founder Wendy Schmidt visited the facility and participated in a friendly rowing race and a Q&A session with the students.
In Chicago, we partnered with Shedd Aquarium to host a beach clean-up with the Walt Disney Elementary School. The students learned about invasive species, plastic pollution, and how collecting data can help protect our coastlines.
We also had an impact during both events in the Race Village.
In Chicago we sponsored Flowater water stations and two viewings of the movie Racing Extinction – both were free to the public and spurred conversations around the importance of water conservation, the human impact on our planet and what actions can be taken daily to help the environment #StartWith1Thing.
Here is a summary of our impact at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series New York (top) and Chicago (bottom).
