Leilani Münter and Racing Extinction at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Chicago

Nascar Driver and environmental activist Leilani Münter was a guest of 11th Hour Racing during the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Chicago. While in Chicago, Leilani was able to meet 11th Hour Racing Co-Founder Wendy Schmidt and Land Rover BAR Skipper and Team Principal Sir Ben Ainslie, as well as members of both organizations. She raced in the coveted “6th man” position with Land Rover BAR. See what Leilani has to say about her experience and the work 11th Hour Racing and Land Rover BAR are doing to make sailing a more sustainable sport and raise awareness on environmental issues.

On Friday evening Leilani introduced the documentary Racing Extinction to the Chicago fans in the Grand Ballroom on Navy Pier and answered questions about the movie and her environmental work after the screening. In the movie, Oscar®-winner Louie Psihoyos (The Cove) assembles a team of artists and activists intent on showing the world never-before-seen images that expose issues of endangered species and mass extinction.
