About Us

From pollution to climate change to the environmental impacts of our sport, our oceans are threatened, and the clock is ticking. 11th Hour Racing works with the sailing community and maritime industry to advance solutions and practices that protect and restore the health of our ocean. Our partners, grantees, and ambassadors integrate sustainability into their values and operations while educating, innovating, and inspiring people with the critical message of ocean stewardship.

We believe fostering environmentally sustainable practices on and off the water is critical to the preservation of our ocean and its vital resources. As one steers a boat with a gentle, steady hand, 11th Hour Racing strives to advance winning environmental and performance practices one degree at a time.

We recognize the unique platform offered by the professional sailing community to promote sustainability, and as a partner, we encourage environmental leadership and the use of best practices to spread the message of ocean stewardship. Our partnerships include carbon-neutral and environmentally responsible sailing races, individuals working to grow environmentally responsible sailing technologies, teams committed to clean racing, and more.

11th Hour Racing funds innovative efforts, both inside and outside of the sailing industry, that systematically improve the health of our oceans and preserve its vital resources. Projects with goals of advancing clean technologies, fostering environmental stewardship amongst youth audiences, and promoting ocean literacy are examples of past grantees.

Our Ambassador Program seeks to inspire the sailing industry and promote marine stewardship through engagement and leadership from sailing’s top athletes. Our Ambassadors are forward-thinking stewards of the environment, passionate about improving the health of our oceans and creating positive change in the marine industry. They serve as on the ground resources that raise awareness for 11th Hour Racing’s mission to improve the health of the marine environment.
